Every recommendation on Mshopi is based on research and what’s actually useful to you, not on which brand pays the highest commission. This page lays out, in plain terms, exactly how we decide what makes the cut and what gets left off the site entirely. None of this is complicated on purpose — it’s the same due diligence anyone would do before spending their own money, written down so you can see it.
We check price history
A lot of “deals” online aren’t deals at all — the price gets bumped up right before a sale, then dropped back to normal and called a discount. We check price history before calling anything a deal, using the price the product has actually sold for over recent weeks, not just what the listing claims. If the current price isn’t actually lower than what the product usually sells for, we don’t recommend it just because it’s marked “on sale.” A real discount has to be real, or it doesn’t get featured on Mshopi at all.
We compare alternatives
We don’t recommend a product in isolation. Every pick gets compared against three to five competing products in the same category and price range, so we know it’s actually a strong option and not just the first thing we found. If something else does the job better or costs less for the same result, we say so instead of sticking with our first pick out of convenience. This is the same thing you’d do if you had the time to research it yourself — we just do it for you and show our reasoning so you can check it.
We update regularly
Products get discontinued. Newer models replace older ones. Prices change, sometimes within days. We go back through our recommendations on a regular schedule and pull anything that’s no longer available or been clearly beaten by something newer or cheaper. A stale recommendation pointing at a discontinued product is worse than no recommendation at all, so we treat removing outdated picks as seriously as adding new ones.
We listen to readers
If you tell us a product broke, shipped wrong, or didn’t match the listing, we take it seriously and follow up. Corrections and suggestions get reviewed against the original listing and, where they check out, the page gets updated within a reasonable time. We’d rather fix a mistake quickly and say so than leave it up because changing it is inconvenient. Reader reports are often how we catch problems before they affect more people.
